Are There Free Classes Where I Can Learn About Pregnancy And Childbirth?
Yes, Trotter House offers our Life Skills Program with complete courses in all aspects of pregnancy, childbirth, breast feeding, nutrition and parenting, using the Bright Course Program. You will be assigned one or two courses a week that are easily accessible on your Phone or computer, which will prepare you for many aspects of pregnancy, parenting and marriage.
Is There A way I Can Get things For My Baby?
Trotter House has our Baby Boutique which contains diapers, baby clothes, car seats, strollers, and more. You will earn points toward these items by watching the Bright Course videos weekly and coming regularly to the Trotter House to discuss the classes and chose new ones.
How Long Will It Take For Me To Be Able To Get Items From The Baby Boutique?
That is completely up to you. Clients who come weekly for counseling and complete their Bright Courses have been able to get several items they needed by the time their baby arrives. Your advocate will work with you in identifying what you need and how to get these items.
Are There Other Places You Van Refer Where I Can Get Baby Items?
Yes, Trotter House works with other charitable organizations in Lindale which have both maternity and baby clothes, nursery items and furniture. Our clients have been successful in getting needed items from these places in a timely manner, but on a first come, first serve basis.
Do You Have In Person, One-On-One Classes In Childbirth And Breastfeeding?
Yes, the Life Skills Program at Trotter House will offer a Labor and Delivery course at our center in October 2023 and a Breastfeeding class at our center in November 2023. Each course will be offered four times a year, so you have every opportunity to learn from a qualified instructor.
Are There Resources To Help Me Learn How To Parent?
Yes, the Life Skills Program at Trotter House has a complete course on parenting your baby, toddler and older child. In addition, there are excellent classes for both mothers and fathers, so that they can learn about parenting together as well as how to bond closer together as a couple.
